Dr Phillip Wing
Phillip Wing has extensive, global experience as a Senior Executive. He has been the CEO and Chairman of start-ups, growth companies and large organisations. Former roles include Partner in Technology Venture Partners (TVP), a specialist technology venture capital firm, and was an active Non-Executive Director on many of TVP's portfolio companies in Australia and overseas. Prior to that he was a Senior Executive in IBM's Global and Asia Pacific Management Team, including General Manager (Global Services), responsible for strategy, marketing and business development including acquisitions, alliances and business partners.
Tony Faure is a business leader and investor with extensive experience of media and marketing - both traditional and digital. He was the former CEO of ninemsn, the first Managing Director for Yahoo! Australia and CEO and Founder of HomeScreen Entertainment. Tony was also the former Chairman of Torque Data, Lasttix, Junkee Media, and Non-Executive Director of biNu and The Sound Alliance. Tony is currently the Chair of oOh!media, Owner of t-4, Chairman of PredictHQ and Pollenizer, and is also the Non-Executive Director of Stackla.
Darren Smorgon is the Managing Director of Sandbar Investments, a private investment company. He was previously a Director of CHAMP Private Equity, one of Australia's largest and longest established Private Equity firms, where he spent 16 years.
At CHAMP he led the acquisition and portfolio management of companies including Study Group, LCR Group, Golding Contractors and oOh!media. In conjunction to the Board of Medical Media, Darren is also currently a Non-Executive Director at oOh!media, the Chairman of Hub Australia and a Non-Executive Director of Total Drain Cleaning. He is also on the advisory committee of the Social Ventures Australia social impact fund.
Kevin Wunsh is currently the Managing Director of Private Equity and Corporate Debt at Wingate, Sydney. He has over 20 years' experience working in Australia and internationally in investment management, corporate advisory and strategy with a particular focus on private equity.
Kevin started his career as a corporate lawyer at Herbert Smith Freehills, and has held roles at AT Kearney, Babcock & Brown and was a founding Director of Alceon.
Avi Gilboa is currently the Group Managing Director of Spotlight Holdings Group. Prior to this role, Avi served as Group CFO of Toll Holdings Limited. Previously at Toll he was Group Director of Strategy and M&A. Formerly, Avi was Managing Director for over 10 years within the private equity business of J.P. Morgan (Unitas Capital and JP Morgan Partners).
He has served on the for-profit Boards of GPC Asia Pacific Group Pty Ltd (formerly Repco Group), Godfrey's, Independent Liquor, Cargo Services and Waco International and has also served on the non-for profit Boards of the Melbourne Jewish Community Charity Fund (since 2001), Leibler Yavneh College and the Mizrachi Organisation.
Avi has a Bachelor of Commerce (First Class Honours) from the University of Melbourne.
Naz's experience spans the globe. He started his career with Airtours PLC in Spain and then Jamaica, for two years. He led the internationalisation of the HolidayAutos.com business throughout Europe, USA, Australasia, the Middle East and Africa and following the sale of that group to Lastminute.com in 2003, Naz became MD of International Development. He moved to Dubai in 2005 following the sale of Lastminute.com to Travelocity and he launched and successfully exited various businesses in the online and travel space. In 2011 he was asked by Livingsocial.com to move to Singapore eventually becoming Regional CEO in early 2013 and overseeing its sale in late 2014. Naz has been an investor and previous CEO of Medical Media since January 2016 and lead the two acquisitions during that year that have set up the business as we know it today.
Michael is a Director in Private Equity at Wingate, Melbourne. He previously spent 14 years at Investec Bank (South Africa and London) as a senior banker primarily in the Specialised Finance and Lending Divisions. Michael is a qualified Chartered Accountant (South African Institute of Chartered Accountants) as well as a CFA Charterholder (CFA Institute, USA).
Barry Smorgon, OAM, was a Director and Executive of Smorgon Consolidated Industries, one of the largest private companies in Australia, for over 20 years. Following, in 1996, he acquired and became Executive Chairman of the Jalco Group of Companies. When Jalco was sold in 2015, Sandbar retained the food and wellness division which renamed to Tismor Health and Wellness. Barry is currently the Executive Chairman of Tismor Health and Wellness, a contract manufacturing business with a focus on food and health related products, and Chairman of Pack and Send Systems.
In June 2010, Mr Smorgon also received a Medal of the Order of Australia in the Queen's Birthday Honours for his service to the community and to business. His community and non-profit activities include being Chairman of the Jewish Communal Appeal where he is a life Governor, and Chairman of AIJAC NSW and President of Maccabi Australia.
Yehuda is the General Manager of Investments at Spotlight Group Holdings. Yehuda has over ten years' experience advising middle-market and publicly listed companies across a wide range of issues including corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions and capital raisings.
Before managing the Spotlight Group family office, Yehuda held various roles focusing on investment management, private equity, corporate advisory (M&A and ECM) and corporate strategy.
